Treatment Options
Every treatment is tailored to your individual needs. During your appointment, Zea will recommend the therapies most appropriate for your concerns and goals, often combining techniques to provide the most effective care.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a traditional therapy that uses very fine needles placed at specific points on the body to encourage healing and restore balance. It works by improving circulation, regulating the nervous system, and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal.
Commonly used for:
– Back, neck, and joint pain
– Headaches and migraines
– Stress and anxiety
– Digestive concerns
– Sleep disturbances
– Women’s health and fertility support
– General wellness and preventative care
Cupping
Cupping therapy uses gentle suction to lift the skin and underlying tissues, helping to release muscle tension, improve circulation, and encourage the body’s natural healing response.
Commonly used for:
– Muscle tightness and soreness
– Back, neck, and shoulder pain
– Headaches
– Stress and fatigue
– Recovery after physical activity
– Respiratory congestion
What to expect: Temporary circular marks on the skin are normal and typically fade within several days.
Gua Sha
Gua Sha is a traditional technique that uses a smooth-edged tool to gently stroke the skin. This treatment helps stimulate circulation, reduce inflammation, and relieve muscle tension.
Commonly used for:
– Neck and shoulder tension
– Chronic muscle pain
– Headaches
– Limited mobility
– Recovery from overuse injuries
What to expect: Mild redness may appear after treatment and usually resolves quickly.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion involves warming specific acupuncture points using dried mugwort (moxa). The soothing heat encourages circulation and supports the body’s healing processes.
Commonly used for:
– Chronic pain and stiffness
– Digestive concerns
– Fatigue and low energy
– Menstrual discomfort
– Fertility support
– Cold hands and feet
What to expect: Most people find moxibustion deeply relaxing and enjoy the gentle warmth it provides.
Electroacupuncture (E-Stim)
Electroacupuncture combines traditional acupuncture with a mild electrical current delivered through the needles. The stimulation can enhance treatment effects, particularly for pain and nerve-related conditions.
Commonly used for:
– Chronic and acute pain
– Sciatica and nerve pain
– Muscle spasms
– Sports injuries
– Arthritis and joint pain
– Stroke rehabilitation support
What to expect: You may feel a gentle tingling or rhythmic pulsing sensation during treatment. It should never be painful.
